The department of electronic information and computerizing of library processes is created in 2003 on the base of the Center of business cooperation. Primary purpose of the department is providing its users with electronic sources of information, effective realization of the library suggestions at the market of informative products and services, administration of local computer network, providing library with technological processes software.

The department gives access to the habitants of the city to electronic information of educational, legal, commercial, manufacturing, public, leisure type. The readers of the library can take advantage of such informative resources in the department:

• web-resources of the Internet network;
• fund of multimedia sources on compact disks;
• scientific electronic DB (fulltext databases of the “EBSCO” scientific articles), the access to which is limited and given by the Ukrainian library consortium “Informatio”, the member of which the library is;
• universal full-textual Russian-linguistic database Editions from social and humanitarian sciences and literary-artistic magazines of international company East View
• fund of printing editions of computer subject.

In the department the Internet Center works, which is opened with the help and sponsorship of the USA Embassy in Ukraine owing to realization of the project the “Internet for the readers of public libraries“ (LEAP).

Work of the Internet Center is aimed at solving of the problem of giving the city habitants free access to information and comprehensive use of informative resources in providing with social mobility on the assumption of transferring to civil society.

The library is connected to the Internet by means of a high-speed channel (4096/4096 Kbit/s) on the base of Radio Ethernet. This service allows visitors to have an access to the largest world bases and search servers, to use e-mail, to take part in TV conferences and forums.

Access to the web-resources in the Internet Center is free of charge. Since 2005 year "Virtually-certificate service" works in the structure of department, purpose of which is certificate informative maintenance of the separated users.
