An informative-bibliographic department carries out reference-bibliographic and informative service of readers. After their orders bibliographic references of various subjects are accomplished, bibliographic lists of literature, information about new book receiving and publications is carried out.
The special direction of the department’s work is publishing of bibliographic editions of regional subject. The traditional are booklets from a series “Literary map of Mykolaiv”, annual index about the best people of Mykolaiv “A man of the year. A city dweller of the year”.
The sector of analytical information of government bodies carries out an informative support of the City Executive Committee’s staff, representatives of the city council’s deputy corps. Review, informative-analytical and abstract references, annotated lists of literature, weekly reports "Mykolaiv on the pages of local press" and "Publication in the press of Ukraine about
Mykolaiv" are prepared for this category of users.
A sector participates actively in elucidation the government bodies’ work, informs the city community about basic directions of the local authorities’ activity, their decisions, thus favoring the transparency of local power and getting the city public to take part in adoption of administrative decisions.
