On August 5 at 3:00 PM, the Central City Library named after M. L. Kropyvnytskyi will host a creative meeting-journey “Wings of the Liman” with the talented writer, blogger, and artist Olena Maliarenko (creative pseudonym – Olesia Shtefan).

Olena Maliarenko is an author whose work harmoniously combines lyrics and prose, journalism and painting. She was born in the Kherson region, spent her childhood and youth in Donetsk. A graduate of Donetsk National University, she worked as a teacher, journalist and editor in Donetsk and Kherson.

Pani Olena has been involved in literature since 2002. She made her debut as a student with poems and short stories. In 2003, she became a diploma winner of the "Coronation of the Word" competition for the film script "Masia". She is a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and the National Union of Writers of Ukraine.

Currently, pani Olena lives in Mykolaiv, but continues to work actively in Kherson. After the liberation of the city, she became the host of the "Rika" language club, dedicated to popularizing the Ukrainian language.

The writer's creative output includes poetry collections, children's fairy tales, plays, and collections of short stories. Among the most famous prose collections are "#Typical Boria" (2019), "Pupusia Giselle" (2020), "Giselle and the World" (2024), and others. Her poems are not only read, but also sung: since the beginning of the full-scale invasion , several songs have been created to Olena Maliarenko's texts.

During the meeting, everyone will be able to learn more about the author's creative and life path, hear her sincere and deep poems and stories in her own performance, chat and ask questions.

This will be a unique opportunity to see how a writer from Kherson, a city that survived the occupation, transforms her trials into literature and art. We invite you to a meeting where you will feel the power of words, the beauty of images, and the inspiration that comes from a multifaceted personality: a teacher, author, editor, artist, and woman of action and heart!
