"I want to thank everyone who joined in working on this project. I want to say words of gratitude to our partners who also supported it namely the "Mykolaiv Bazaar" website. The words of gratitude to every branch that joined the project, to every person who made an effort to make this project born. And today it lives its own life. I am convinced that we will continue such kind of work. We will write history, memories and the future of Mykolaiv together with you», - emphasized the director of the Central city library named after M.L. In total librarians recorded 30 interviews with people of different ages, different professions, habitual residents of Mykolaiv, and much more. The chronology of memories covers the period from the 30s to the 90s of the last century. The oldest participant of the action was born in 1928, the youngest one - in 1984.
The best stories recorded during the action are presented on the pages of the audio blog of the Central City Library named after M.L. It includes recordings not only in audio but also in video format.
Materials of the presented audio collection "Mykolaiv of My Childhood" are not only of social, but also scientific interest.

"And thanks to you, this collection not only got its radio listener in Mykolaiv but also become a part of the history of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory. I hope that these memories will surely find their listeners among the users of our online platform. And although these memories are written in a slightly different format than we are used to do our research, they are nevertheless quite informative. They express, like our childhood, a special atmosphere of warmth and comfort, charming of the city.
After hearing them you are filled with that atmosphere, feel differently changes which occur during the last fifty years in Mykolaiv. The Institute of National Memory supports such projects and actions, because they fill our national memory not only with information but also with meaning. It makes us more understandable, interesting and open to each other. Therefore, we hope for further cooperation with the library, "said Tetiana Kovtunovych, Head of the Sector of Accounting and Preservation of Oral Sources of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.
