It is impossible to imagine the literary heritage of Mykolaiv region without the name of Valerii Boichenko - a famous poet, translator, publicist, local historian, public figure, winner of many awards. He loved Ukraine. He confessed to this not only with penetrating poetic lines, but also with his whole life and public work. With his activity, poetic and journalistic words, Valerii Petrovych approached the time for Ukraine to become an independent state.

He wrote 12 books of poetry, local lore and journalistic articles on the history and culture of Mykolaiv region, translations of prose and poetry. Valerii Boichenko's works have been translated into Russian, Georgian, Armenian, Ossetian, Bulgarian and other languages.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Valerii Petrovych Boichenko, we offer to get acquainted with the materials of the M.L. Kropyvnytskyi Central City Library, which preserve the memory of the artist.
