The youth of Mykolaiv is opening the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi in a new way. And no wonder. After all, we change formats, destroy myths and stereotypes.
Today, November 5, we had an interesting conversation with the students of the Mykolaiv Building College of the Kyiv National University of Building and Architecture.
The head of the user service department, Hanna Serhienko, introduced guests to the variety of library locations, places to rest and obtain information. In her turn, the leading librarian of the reading room, Olena Doskalenko, told potential users the history of the literary museum and the unique literary square.
Leading bibliographer Liudmila Bidiuk demonstrated how to work with electronic databases to young men and women in the electronic information department.
Olena Havrylova, the chief librarian, was already waiting for the students in the subscription department. She shared with the guests the diversity of the library fund, publications that are in high demand. Especially among young people.
The tour ended at the Center for Modern Reading "MARKO". The leader of the library youth party, the chief librarian, Oleksandra Romashova, interested the teenagers in a bunch of themed and holiday jam sessioms. Oleksandra is actually the leader of their regulars. She also announced the start of a new speaking project "Speak to learn".
The highlight of the excursion was the demonstration of videos from the "MythBusters" series, filmed by librarians over several years.
