First-year students majoring in "Economics and International Economic Relations" and third-year students majoring in "Entrepreneurship and Trade" visited us.
During the excursion the students became acquainted with the main reader service halls, visited the ProSto Hub, and, of course, took selfies in the library's photo zone.
In the library's Literary Museum, the guests learned about the history of the book depository, which has been serving the people of Mykolaiv for over 125 years, preserving reading traditions and constantly opening up to new work formats.
The meeting with Liubov Variukhina, the Deputy Director for Core Activities, was especially informative. She spoke about the economic component of the library's operation:
— the algorithm for funding from the state and city budgets;
— the system for providing paid services;
— grant initiatives, city and regional programs, which enabled the library to acquire new book collections and implement vibrant socio-cultural projects.
The students were convinced - the library is not just about books; it is a modern development center where culture and creative ideas work together for the benefit of the community.
