The presented series has been created since 2022 — from the beginning of the full-scale invasion — in Mykolaiv and the de-occupied villages of the Kherson region.
Oksana Mankova is a Ukrainian artist, graphic designer, stained-glass artist, psychologist, and art therapist from Mykolaiv. Her works were born alongside the reality of war, loss, and, at the same time, resilience.
For over 25 years, the artist has been working in the field of visual arts. In recent years, her creative activity has become closely intertwined with psychological and art-therapeutic support for children, women, and families who survived occupation and traumatic experiences. That is why these graphics are not just images, but an internal testimony of the time.
The compositions combine ancient cultural codes with modern life experience. Images of the Berehynia (Protectress), Archangel Michael, Saint George, and motifs of the Mother of God tradition form a visual narrative about ancestral memory, protection, faith, and inner fortitude.
These works do not depict war literally — they live through it at the level of inner meanings. And that is precisely why they resonate in the hearts of the audience.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of deep reflection and sincere dialogue. We thank everyone who shared this important moment with us.
