This year, the text of the dictation is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Mykolaiv Zoo, one of the oldest and most famous zoos in Ukraine. The author of the text is the director of the Mykolaiv Zoo, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Volodymyr Topchyi.

Traditionally, Mykolaiv residents from various corners of Ukraine and from abroad joined the writing of the dictation.

Dmytro Falko, Secretary of the Mykolaiv City Council, and Volodymyr Topchyi, the author of the dictation text, addressed the participants with welcoming words, wishing everyone success and thanking them for their love for the Ukrainian language and their care for the history of their hometown.

The participants' works will be evaluated by a professional jury consisting of:

• Inha Khorzhevska — Director of the Marko Kropyvnytskyi Central Library, Honored Journalist of Ukraine, Chair of the Jury;
• Valentyna Kuptsova — Teacher-Methodologist of Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 2 of the Mykolaiv City Council, Honored Teacher of Ukraine;
• Liliia Ruskulis — Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor;
• Anastasiia Kuznietsova — Acting Head of the Department of Theory and Methods of Linguistic, Literary and Artistic and Aesthetic Education of the Mykolaiv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education (МОІППО);

• Olha Voroshylova — Chief Specialist of the Information Policy and Communications Department of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Hanna Novytska became the voice of the "Mykolaiv Dictation – 2026."

Participants who wrote the dictation live completed their work at the Marko Kropyvnytskyi Central Library, while everyone who joined online is sending their texts to the organizers' email address. Over the coming weeks, the jury will be checking the works.

On June 28, on the Constitution Day of Ukraine, the full text of the dictation will be published on the Facebook page of the Marko Kropyvnytskyi Central Library.

The winners will traditionally be announced and honored in August, ahead of the Independence Day of Ukraine.

The project is implemented with the support of the Mykolaiv City Council, the Department of Culture and Cultural Heritage Protection of the Mykolaiv City Council, the Marko Kropyvnytskyi Central Library, and the MART Television Company.
