The history of the project began back in 2021. At that time, the non-governmental organization "Kryla" "(Wings) together with the library, prepared the idea and submitted it to the Mykolaiv Participatory Budget competition. The project received the support of local residents, but the full-scale invasion forced the plans to be postponed.

However, the idea did not disappear. And today it has found new life — in the format of a modern, multifunctional space open to children, youth, and adult residents of the Kulbakyno district.

What has changed?

• More reading. The book collection has been replenished with new editions for children and adults.
• More opportunities for youth. A space for board and computer games has been equipped, and modern gaming and digital equipment has been acquired.
• More movement. The playground has been updated, and sports equipment has been purchased. Now you can play table tennis, darts, and badminton here, as well as enjoy active leisure time.
• More ideas for meetings. The flipchart has already come in handy during speaking club sessions, as well as meetings with psychologists, lawyers, and social workers. Ahead are training sessions, creative classes, gaming tournaments, and new formats of library events.

Some of the facilities are already actively functioning: board games became part of the "Mykolaiv Chip" festival, and sports equipment was used during summer fairytale-and-game events. The new gaming and audio equipment only recently arrived at the library, so mastering the technology and many exciting ideas lie ahead.

For the library, this project is much more than renovating the premises or purchasing equipment. It is an opportunity to create a place where people want to come, where they can communicate, learn, play, create, find like-minded people, and simply have a good time.

The presentation was attended by the Head of the Culture and Arts Department of the Mykolaiv City Council Yurii Liubarov, Deputy Head of the Korabelnyi District Administration Oleh Dudenko, Director of the Marko Kropyvnytskyi Central Library Inha Khorzhevska, as well as leaders and representatives of partner organizations.

We sincerely thank the Mykolaiv City Council, the Participatory Budget team, the Culture and Arts Department, the Marko Kropyvnytskyi Central Library, the non-governmental organization "Kryla," partners, and everyone who contributed to bringing this idea to life.

"7 Worlds Festival" is a project that proved that even postponed dreams can become reality. And a library is much more than books. It is a space created by people and for people.
