During two days, representatives of the Mykolaiv regional office of the International Medical Corps held a seminar for female representatives of the staff of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi and its library branches on countering gender-based violence.
This is one of the six areas of work of the International Medical Corps.
"We hold meetings with community representatives at various locations, where we talk and make presentations on countering gender-based violence - key concepts. In fact, today and yesterday we held a conversation in the library, to which we added a section dedicated to March 8. We emphasize that this is not a celebration of femininity. It is a symbol of women's struggle for equality. This question is very similar to the general topic. Because discrimination against women is precisely gender discrimination. That's why we're talking about it," said Olha Skvirska.
