Today, our library's art location was covered with real cat mania! First, we learned about the history of the toy, and then we got to work.
Pani Svitlana shared her sincere and deep poems, talked about life in Canada and her strong spiritual connection with her native Mykolaiv, as well as about her many years of friendship and joint translation work with Dmytro Kremin.
On August 21, we celebrate the birthday of Dmytro Kremin (1953–2019) — a famous Mykolaiv resident, Honored Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, poet, publicist, teacher, and translator.
This is the sixth event of the art project "Seasons", organized for the 125th anniversary of the library together with the CAA "Art-Spokusa", to which we invite everyone to come and feel the warmth of summer in art!
Mykolaiv craftswoman Hanna Petryk taught participants how to make a decorative pendant "Zatyshok" for the kitchen. Coffee sticks were transformed into a hut, and clothespins, paints, and kitchen trinkets came to life in a colorful decor.
Born in the Kherson region, with experience of living in Donetsk and now in Mykolaiv, she combines poetry and prose, journalism and painting in her work. Her books are read, her poems are sung, and her life path is inspiring.
This is a special event, as the exhibition was the first personal one for pani Oksana, who mastered the art of Petrykivka painting after the full-scale invasion began. Her work became a saving island of peace and strength in turbulent times.
On August 6, with the support of the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Social Services, a bright and inspiring master class “Summer in the Boho Style” was held.
On July 17, the Central City Library named after Marko Kropyvnytskyi, together with the Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-Spokusa", invited regular visitors to a vibrant master class on painting key chains. It was held by an experienced Mykolaiv graphic artist Oksana Davydova
