The central city library (CCL) named after M.L.Kropyvnytskyi of the Centralized Library System for adults (CLS) of Mykolaiv is one of the largest public cultural institutions, a significant information, socio-cultural, leisure center of the city, which unites 22 libraries and 4 library points and which is an administrative and methodological center at the same time.
Inha Eduarivna Khorzhevska is the Director of the Mykolaiv M.L. Kropyvnytskyi Central City Library. She is an Honored Journalist of Ukraine (2009) and a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (2002). She is also a co-founder of the "Andrii Antoniuk Foundation" charitable fund. She served as the head of the public council of the Mykolaiv M.L. Kropyvnytskyi Central City Library from 2016 to 2021. In 2005, she was named "Citizen of the Year" in the "Mass Media" nomination as part of the city-wide "Person of the Year. Citizen of the Year" program.
Annually, the libraries of the Centralized Library System for Adults serve over 85,000 residents of the city. This includes the Central Library, which serves more than 20,000 users, with a daily attendance of 300 to 500 people.
The document collection of the Centralized Library System is approximately 550,000 items. The Central Library holds over 120,000 items, including 4,000 rare and valuable publications from the 19th and 20th centuries, around 300 titles of periodicals, a collection of local history publications, audiobooks, and a number of book collections that are unique to the Mykolaiv region.
